Two Generations of music making.
Carmela Bucceri Altamura
It is not by accident that soprano, Carmela Altamura, a post-war imigrant separated from her family at the age of eight, feels drawn to help young artists find their footing and immigrants communities find new opportunities through education and the arts. A repicient of the Metropolitan Opera Guild Scholarship, Ms. Altamura studied at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Milan. Athough the passion and beauty of her singing has touched many audinces, she feels cold upon with equal zeal to obey an inner prompting - one that urges her to search for innovative ways to help others. In choosing to use her voice as an instrument of peace, she has forged a remarkable and unique career - one that melds art and personal conviction into a unifying force. Through a variety of musical literature reflecting the richness of many cultures, and in voice mellowed by life's arduous journey, Carmela Altamura's reflection of a lifetime communicate to the soul of the people. The second generation
Cristina Altamura

At age 13, she accompanied her mother, a highly regarded interpreter of opera and art song, in a concert at New York City's Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall. Thus, the musical collaboration began. Other concerts were to follow taking mother and daughter to perform in Italy, Israel, Gibraltar and the United States. For more information about booking mother and daughter concerts, please see the contact page.
